Directions?

Wat Luang Phor Sodh Dhammakayaram is two hours from Bangkok by #78 air-conditioned bus, which leaves the Southern Bus Terminal every 20 minutes 06:00-19:00. Please arrive at the wat between 06:00 and 18:00. (We invite you for Lunch at the wat 11:00-12:00.) Let Phra Bart know your approximate arrival time in advance by either email or telephone, since he is often busy with teaching meditation. Bus fare is about 70 baht, paid onboard. Do Not Take Any Other Bus!!! Tell the conductress to inform you when the bus comes to Wat Luang Phor Sodh. Remind her again after 1.5 hours.

Get off at the second gate (with guard house). If possible, telephone Phra Bart immediately (089-068-0521). Enter the monastery, turn right, and walk along the water, parallel to the highway, until you reach the fork and see the Information Centre (with tall pointed roof) on your left. If opened, enter and call Phra Bart. (During retreats there will be a registration tent in front of this building.) If closed, continue behind this building to the Wat Mini Mart. They will call Phra Bart for you. For workshops, the Thai Sala Women's Dorm is right by the Mini Mart. Enter on the foot path next to the white foot bridge with steps going up.

If Phra Bart is in meditation, he will not answer the telephone. Leave a message and he will call back within an hour. Try to contact Phra Bart's assistant, Samanera Rory Tasker, on extension 178. If calling from outside, the wat telephone is 032-253-632. Dial the extension (178 for Rory or 114 for Bart) when the answering machine answers in Thai. Remember that anyone else you reach will probably be speaking Thai.)
